Evie walking around
so here is the rough video of Evie walking around. Pretty good for a nine month old!! She also will crawl on top of anything she can get her hands on and for some reason (her daddy and all my male students) she loves to wrestle around on the ground. She has been a little cranky...people make fun of me when I say this because her cranky day is like most babies good days...so we think that she might be getting her top teeth in! We are already being tested by her on our resolve when we say no. She will reach for something and we will tell her no, then she will pull her hand away look at us and then start reaching for it again while she is watching us. We give firm no's and pull her away and hand her something else but she just looks at us like we are not so smart and then crawls back to the other object. Evie has also learned how to open and shut things like cabinets and even better - DOORS! (she can't open the doors unless they are cracked - but she can close them from any point). The other day I followed her down the hall to her room, where she crawled in and then proceeded to shut the door in my face. (hmmmmmmm, didn't think I would get that until she was a teenager). Evie is a football spectator pro! She has been to all of our high school games and she loves the bands! She bounces and sings when the bands play, which usually gets a lot of attention from everyone around her, She loves to clap for the players and most recently she likes to hug on the mascot...GO ALCOVY TIGERS! Half the time we don't even get to have her because the students have her over in the student section with them. She loves to her wear onesies that we make her that say I love my tigers! Well that has been what's been going on with Evie the last month...can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

I can't believe my eyes! WOW! That's awesome! Go Evie! Laney is clapping at everything too! Isn't that soooooooooo sweet?! Her top two teeth are about to bust through that gum any second now. I can see each tooth...I'm just ready for them to come through. they are sooo close. She's a bit cranky too..but like you said....our babies are so wonderful and have great temperments. Laney also tests us with No. She actually laughs and smiles when we say no. Every now and then she'll get this deer in the headlights look, form her lips in an "O" shape and say, "ohhh" really lowly and drag it out. It's really cute. When I say no I put gentle pressure (a squeeze if you will) on her hand so that she knows something when I say the word No. Does Evie like every cord on the face of the earth? Man! Laney LOVES cords, straps, ...anything like that. She also loves to crawl over to the computer tower and turn the computer off! That little stinker!

And, I have had the opportunity to see the dancing to the HS band firsthand, and she has got moves, I tell you. She must have learned it from me and Kobs :)
I've made every person who has stepped foot in the Dean of Students Office suite watch this video....I think I've watched it 100 times already!

Evie is oh so adorable! I am so glad she is walking. Gideon was an early walker too, but Caleb...well, I guess every kid is different. Anyway, she is so so so cute! Great video, it was so much fun!
