we had Evie's first birthday party yesterday at 3pm! It was so much fun. There were 35 of our closest friends and family members and it was such a blessing.
We had a book theme, so we asked everyone to bring a copy of their favorite book and write a message to her inside the front cover. The books were absolutely wonderful and the messages left inside were beautiful. We sat down last night and read them, some made us laugh and others made us cry. We know she will treasure them one day.
I am really proud of the cakes - Grr made the cakes and I did the icing and decorating of them - it was soooo much fun.
This was Evie's personal cake - yes that would be the one on her face in the first pictures.
Hunter and Evie have the same eating habits (that's icing all over his face).
Alison came by the party before she had to go to work. Alison was one of my discipleship girls from 4 years ago. She has become a cherished friend.
Evie had fun opening her books with Daddy and Mommy.
Aunt Lizzie and Evie played with the books after they were opened.
These are some of my Alcovy Students who came by the party to bring Evie her books. I love my students and I hope Evie will one day be like them.
Evie loves her "Uncle" Hunter and "Aunt" Ashley! They drove down from Braselton to see Evie. They will be getting married in June.
"Aunt" Amanda and "Uncle" Jim, drove down from Gainesville. Evie is really excited and so are Mommy and Daddy because Jim and Amanda will have their own beautiful child at the end of May!
Here are Evie and her "Aunt" Kobi and "Aunt" Jess. She loves them almost as much as Mommy and Aunt Lizzie. Kobi says Evie gets her big ole lips from her.
Here is the Patel family. Milan, Seetal, and Rak. These are our neighbors and really good friends. Milan is just a few months younger than Evie so they have a good time playing together.
Whitney is a former student of mine from spalding and now a very good friend. She is almost done with her college career (i am getting old) and she has been there for just about every event in our lives since we met her.
As you can tell the end of the night is close because Evie is going down fast after that sugar high. She loves her uncle Eric and she didn't want him to leave.
WE ARE SO BLESSED - The Lord has put so many incredible people in our lives to laugh and love and sometimes cry with. We praise Him for being the King of all. We encourage you to take a moment and say a prayer of thanks to Him for the incredible people in your life.
